Der Sammelband "Eine Mauer für den SED-Staat : Berlin 1961 und die Folgen" folgt einer Perspektive, die den Bau der Mauer und den Fall der Mauer gemeinsam analysiert. Die Beiträge gehen auf die 33. Jahrestagung der Gesellschaft für Deutschlandforschung zurück, die am 14. und 15. März 2011 in Berlin stattfand. Sie berücksichtigen innen- wie außenpolitische Aspekte des Mauerbaus gleichermaßen. Unter welchen Themen dies im Einzelnen geschieht, zeigt der Verfasser mit Hilfe eines kurzen inhaltlichen Überblicks über die Einzelbeiträge des Sammelbandes. (ICE2)

L'auteure raconte que nous avons appris à l'école que l'indépendance a été acquise pacifiquement. Sans bain de sang. Que le Kenya était le modèle que le reste de l'Afrique était supposé regarder ! Une joyeuse nation multiraciale, où Blancs, Asiatiques et Africains vivent tous en harmonie. Lors de la guerre d'indépendance, moins de cent blancs moururent, et plus de vingt-cinq milles africains. La moitié des Africains qui moururent était constituée d'enfants de moins de dix ans. Il y avait soixante mille colons blancs au Kenya au moment de l'indépendance en 1963. Le nouveau gouvernement kenyan a dû emprunter 12,5 millions de livres à son ancien maître colonial, le gouvernement britannique, afin de racheter les terres volées aux colons qui voulaient partir. Une belle leçon d'histoire pour les enfants des écoles africaines.
